Western
Art by Wyoming Artists
Many talented western and native wildlife artists live, work or
play in the Bighorn Basin of Wyoming.
We invite you to visit each of our featured artist’s web page
to view his or her collection of Western Art by Wyoming Artists. We will be adding other
selected Western Artists and their offerings to the Wyoming Artists Group
website. Make this site one of your favorites and visit it often for updates.
Ann Hanson - Shell Valley has its share of talented artists, including one of the
horse lover’s favorite artists, Ann Hanson.
Ann’s original art is on display in many exquisite settings, including
private homes and lodges across the nation and overseas, as well as in the
prestigious Buffalo Bill Historical
Center Museum
in Cody, Wyoming. Her work appears regularly in
such notable publications as Western Horseman, Art of the West, and other
well-known publications. Click here to visit Ann’s personal website and see for yourself why
her works are prized by horse lovers.
Michael Kopriva - Wyoming
native Mike Kopriva has consistently won many competitions for his work in acrylic
and watercolor painting, stone sculpture, and metal sculpture. A few of his
more notable commissions include an acrylic 8' x 22' mural depicting scenes
from Wyoming at the Wyoming State Capitol in Cheyenne, a 4' x 20' steel mural
placed in the Rockville, MD Department of Transportation illustrating the
history of transportation, and a
12" x 20" acrylic painting of the USS Wyoming Trident submarine
commissioned as a gift for the officers. Mike's works can be found in
local, national, and international corporate and private collections. Click here to visit Mike’s webpage and see
for yourself why his works are so much in demand.
Ainsley McNeely - A native of Alabama, Ainsley McNeely, first came to the Wyoming/Montana area
to paint in the 1990’s and liked it so much she bought property and began
designing a new studio. She is known to the public for the colorful posters
she designed for the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs and
the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, as well as the 2001-2002 Alabama Duck
Stamp. Ainsley’s wildlife paintings, sporting art
and portraits appear in galleries, shows and competitions throughout the U. S.,
winning awards in such shows as the Louisiana Wildfowl Festival, The Art Show
at the Dog Show, The World Wildlife Art Festival and the Grand National Art
Contest. Click here to view her Gallery and learn more
about this talented artist.
Sally Gregory – Our area is blessed with a number of great
artists, and long time Shell Valley resident Sally Gregory is no exception.
After a number of years of sporadic painting due to business and family
interruptions, Sally is back in a big way. You can now see her offerings
online at Sally Gregory Fine Art .
Allyson Shoun – The only child of artist parents, Allyson's
appreciation for art began at an early age. Allyson began exhibiting in
galleries and working on commissioned artwork as a student at Ft. Lewis
College in Durango, Colorado. Today, Allyson, her husband, Jerry and
their two daughters Emma and Samantha live in Arvada, Colorado and on their
cattle ranch in Meriden, Wyoming.
Allyson’s charcoal, pencil and pastel drawings
and portraits have appeared in many galleries and shows over the years and
are displayed in private collections nationally. Her most recent
gallery appearances include the Visions West Art Show at the National Western
Stock Show in Denver, Colorado and The Western Spirit Art Show in Cheyenne,
Wyoming. Allyson is most known to the public by drawings appearing on
the covers of the Fence Post’s 2010 “Breeder’s Connection” and on the cover
of the American Simmental Association’s 2010 Sire Source. Click here to visit her webpage and see her art works.
Shea Dimock – Shea is
a Cody, Wyoming resident with family ties to Shell, Wyoming - her
grandparents having founded one of the earliest guest ranches in Shell
Valley. She started making Zuni-inspired pottery in 1999 after having the
privilege of viewing some beautiful examples of both historic &
contemporary Zuni pieces. Much of her pottery features animals and styles
that have influenced her since childhood. Click here to visit her webpage and view her pottery offerings.
